Truro City ground could become 'major food store'

According to reports, a 'major food store' could be built on Truro City's Treyew Road ground.
Documents seen by the BBC reveal that London-based property firm Helical Bar has been working to satisfy the 'requirements of a major food store operator,' and could put in a planning application some time this autumn.
Helical Bar entered into an agreement last year with ground owners JoJo Investco Ltd to look at the 'possible redevelopment' of the site, and have an option to buy.
Truro City sold Treyew Road to JoJo Investco last July for £2.28m.
Soon after the sale, Helical Bar released a statement saying there was a "need to secure the long term future for Truro City Football Club in Truro, and to reflect the club's widespread aspiration to grow and develop grass roots football for the community."
The statement went on to say: "This will involve full consultation with all interested parties about various issues, including possible alternative football ground for the club."
Truro City chairman Peter Masters said in January that he expected the club would have to find a new home within the next two years.
Masters took over the running of Truro City in October last year after previous chairman Kevin Heaney was declared bankrupt.
