Firefighters had to smash the window of a car in Pool this morning after a toddler locked themselves inside with the keys.

A crew from Camborne was called to Station Road just before noon, where they found the two-year-old had pushed a button on the door to lock with car – but with the mother’s keys still inside.

Although firefighters initially tried to get in without damaging the vehicle, with the toddler becoming increasingly agitated it was decided that breaking the window was the only course of action.

The two-year-old was subsequently released – as was a six-month-old baby, which slept through the whole ordeal.
