Penryn Rugby Club to host Kidney Research charity fundraiser
2:00pm Thursday 26th September 2013 in News
Penryn Rugby Club will step back in time this Friday, September 27, for a 90s night in aid of Kidney Research.
Jamie Reed from DJ in Cornwall set out to raise £2,000 in aid of Kidney Research after running the London Marathon in April and thought a 90s night would be a great way to promote the work of the charity in Cornwall.
Jamie was diagnosed with Alport Syndrome, a genetic kidney disease, at the age of three and despite the threat of a transplant hanging over him has continued to fundraise by taking on punishing training regimes.
"I am delighted to support a charity like Kidney Research," he said. "Growing up with something like this makes you appreciate the work charities do and I'm one of the lucky ones, I'm still relatively fit and healthy, but every day Kidney Research UK help thousands of others.”
The event starts at 7.30pm and runs until 11.30pm with tickets costing £4.They can be ordered in advance at www.djincornwall.co.uk.
