Big beach clean at Gunwalloe: PICTURES
2:00pm Saturday 28th September 2013 in News
At times the mist made it hard to even see the rubbish needing collecting, but this did not stop volunteers heading to Gunwalloe’s Fishing Cove on Saturday.
A clean up event organised by Kennack Diving School was well supported, despite the poor weather conditions.
Bag after bag was filled with litter collected from the beach and shoreline, where it has accumulated over the past year.
The findings were recorded as part of a national survey on beach cleanliness. This is being collated by the Marine Conservation Beach Clean team, which has been encouraging events to take place nationally.
Pupils from Parc Eglos Primary School and students from Falmouth Marine School were among the volunteers helping out on land, as well as residents and businesses in the surrounding area.
