Man in critical condition after Lelant crash

A man has suffered life threatening injuries after a car hit a wall and ended up on its roof this morning at Lelant, near St Ives.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the single vehicle road traffic collision on Abbey Hill in Lelant near to St Ivesat around 7.15 today, (Friday, September 27).
A police spokesman said: "It is understood a car collided with the wall of a house and ended up on its roof.
"The single occupant was a man thought to be in his fifties is described as being trapped in the car. The man is described as having a serious head injury and was airlifted by a search and rescue helicopter to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth with life threatening injuries."
Fire and ambulance crews were called to the scene.
There are road closures on at Tempest roundabout which is at the junction of Abbey Hill, Mill Hill and the B3301 and at the Badgers Inn public house.
The road is expected to remain closed for some time and the public are advised to avoid the area.
