A free family fun day will be taking place at Tuckingmill Valley Park in Camborne today as part of a national environmental event the “Big Green Weekend”.
Hosted by the Conservation Volunteers in Cornwall between 11am and 3pm, families can enjoy a day of activities including treasure hunts, bee box making, face-painting, a welly throwing competition and other games at the Green Flag accredited site.
Families will also have the opportunity to learn how to survey trees in a stroll around the Valley Park.
The Camborne Snail Racing Championships will be returning for a hotly contested second year.
To help the families recharge their batteries, plenty of refreshments will be on offer including tea, coffee, cakes and barbecue food.
The Conservation Volunteers’ “Big Green Weekend” is a UK wide initiative running from October 4 to 7.
More information and the locations of the different projects can be found on the Big Green Weekend website at www.tcv.org.uk/biggreenweekend.
