Businesses in Falmouth and the surrounding area have been shortlisted as finalists in the 2013/2014 Cornwall Tourism Awards.
Among them are Fal River Visitor Information Centre shortlisted in the tourist information service category, Cosawes Barton at Ponsanoooth for self catering establishment of the year and Trebah Garden at Mawnan Smith as garden of the year.
The Pandora Inn at Restronguet has been shortlisted as pub of the year for the second year running, while Falmouth’s Greenbank Hotel is in the running to become large hotel of the year.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony taking place at the Headland Hotel in Newquay on November 7.
The 17 award categories cover everything from hotels and restaurants to activities and tourist information, as well as four new thematic attraction categories. There is also a special wildlife friendly business award and a ‘winner of winners’ title will be awarded on the night.
Malcolm Bell, head of Visit Cornwall, said: “Cornwall is full of some amazing businesses who are continually developing and improving their offering. By recognising and rewarding this, the awards celebrate and showcase excellence which in turn inspires quality across the industry.”
