Helston man helped friend carry stolen items

A Helston man whose friend asked him to help carry some things suspected that they might have been stolen, but helped him anyway, Truro magistrates heard.
Police officers were looking on and questioned him, leading to his appearance in court where he pleaded guilty to receiving a stolen garden strimmer, sat nav and |connection lead.
He was Damien Richard Crowle, aged 19, of Grange Road, Helston. He had previous convictions. His solicitor Elliott Moore said he had become involved in someone else’s wrongdoing. He had used drugs and alcohol|previously, but was doing his best to reduce that use because of the trouble he had been getting into.
Crowle was given a conditional discharge for 18 months and told to pay £60 costs and victim surcharge.
