A Penryn musician told Truro magistrates that driving after drinking alcohol was one of the silliest things he had ever done.
Christopher Robert Woodward, aged 48, of Lower Market Street, was seen in his van by police officers, who noted he had a faulty indicator on it.
He smelt of alcohol when they spoke to him and later tested at 53mcg of alcohol in breath, 18 points over the limit.
At Truro Magistrates’ Court Woodward pleaded guilty to drink driving in Pennance Road, Falmouth, on September 11.
He was banned from driving for 15 months, fined £120 and ordered to pay £105 costs and surcharge.
