Four Newquay men charged with manslaughter after death outside Sailors nightclub

Four Newquay men have been charged with manslaughter following the death of a man outside the Sailors nightclub in the town in April.
Graham Lutey aged 34 years, Richard Favetta aged 29 years, Lewis Bowns aged 25 years and Ian Harold aged 45 years, all from the Newquay area, have today been jointly charged with the offence of manslaughter. They have been bailed to appear at Bodmin Magstrates Court on November 5.
A police investigation was launched after the death of Michael Kearns, 49, of Newquay, in the early hours of Saturday April 27 this year.
At the time police said the isolated incident" was not being treated as a murder enquiry, with the investigation into the death of Mr Kearns conducted by the Force Major Crime Investigation Team.
Police were called in the early hours of Saturday 27 April to the incident at the Sailors nightclub, with officers finding a 49-year-old local man unconscious and not breathing.
Police officers and members of staff from the nightclub carried out CPR on the man until the ambulance arrived.
Mr Kearns was taken to Treliske hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
