The team behind plans to breathe new life into Constantine’s Jubilee Memorial Park have been given a cash boost of almost £10,000 from the SITA Trust.
The JuMP project aims to regenerate the run down play park and has been drawing on ideas from the local community on how best to do that.
Ten workshops have already been held to discuss ideas for the project, which incorporates an indoor venue as well as the playground.
The JuMP team have been busy fundraising and securing grants and are delighted with the latest one of £9,788.
Eric Nicholls, vice-chair of Constantine Parish Council, said: “We are delighted to have received such a generous grant from the SITA Trust which will enable us to move ahead with our project to regenerate the children’s play park for the benefit of the community.”
Marek Gordon, CEO and chairman of the SITA Trust, said: “We are delighted to have been able to support this project through the Landfill Communities Fund. This important source of funding has been available since 1997 and has provided such worthy projects with more than £1.2 billion.”
