Bulb planting plan to make Truro blooming lovely
10:00am Tuesday 22nd October 2013 in News
Truro Cathedral and Truro in Bloom are joining forces to plant over 2,000 Spring bulbs on Cathedral Green, and they are asking for your help to do it.
Truro Cathedral's Green is about to be transformed into an outdoor ice rink ready for the return of iceskatetruro, but before that can happen there is the little matter of planting a few spring bulbs.
The idea came from Richard Argyll of Truro in Bloom and is part of the Royal Horticultural Societie's 'Wild About Gardens Week'.
He said, "If there any parents and children who would like to help with this bulb planting then all they need to do is turn up at the Cathedral Green at 2pm this Saturday bringing their trowels with them!'
"So while families and children are having fun skating around the frozen ice rink in November and December, the bulbs will be tucked up snuggly underneath waiting for their time to herald the warmer and sunnier days of spring."
The bulb planting will take place this Saturday, October 26 at 2pm.
