Warning over bogus charity calls to Cornish farmers
11:00am Thursday 24th October 2013 in News
Farmers have been warned to be on their guard after bogus phone calls in West Cornwall this week.
The caller purports to represent the Farm Watch Scheme and requests donations to be made in support of the scheme.
Police say that Farm Watch and all other recognised Watch Schemes are run in partnership by the Devon and Cornwall Community Watch Association and the police.
Adding: "Financial donations or contributions are never requested from individuals. All funds needed are raised through properly controlled bids to various financial funds."
Should you receive any contact requesting donations for Farm Watch or any other similar Watch scheme, please contact the police on ‘101’ to let us know.
