A new estate agency firm has found a home in Helston, in a former butchers.

Olivers Estate Agents will be based at the top of Meneage Street, in the former butchers and delicatessen that had been there since the 19th century, and run in recent years by the late Peter Oliver and his sister Sarah Perry.

After taking the difficult decision to close the business, following the death of her brother, Mrs Perry agreed for the new business to continue with the Olivers name.

Olivers Estate Agents Cornwall Ltd will now be owned and operated by Steve Critchard, Donna Bosustow and Sharon Kinsella, who all have previous experience in the industry.

Christophers, PDQs, Miller and son, Miller Country Wide, Mathers, Bradley's in Helston with additionally Christophers in Porthleven and Mullion, now Olivers in Helston, Competition is big, so I think they should offer something different such as a discount on removals if you buy or sell through them, a box of chocolates if you have a valuation done and of course a competitive commission rate.
If they can find me a two bed bungalow for £120,000 to £130,000 in Porthleven or Helston then they I will be there.

It's an easy business to set up,and with no statutory regulation in place to ensure estate agents are suitably qualified to sell property,it's about time this was regulated by statute to ensure the public are safeguarded

I wish them well,together with the other identical 6 businesses in Town.

That's one less place in Town to buy decent meat, gone forever.
