Remembrance Day parades will be taking place all across the Falmouth Penryn and Helston areas next month.

Falmouth will be marking Remembrance Sunday with a parade and service at the war memorial in Kimberley Park on November 10. Participants will assemble on The Moor at 10.25am and head for the park at 10.4am. A service conducted by Captain Brown will be held at 11am and include two minutes’ silence wreath laying. The parade will then march down to The Moor at 11.30am.

On November 11, a two minutes’ silence will be observed at the St Nazaire Memorial on Prince of Wales Pier in Falmouth at 11am.

The events in Penryn are being organised by the town’s branch of the Royal British Legion. On November 10, a parade will muster at the Town Hall at 10.30am before marching to St Gluvias Church for a service at 11am. An Act of Remembrance will also take place at Penryn Rugby Club at 2pm.

On the Monday, two minutes’ silence will be observed at 11am and the Memorial Garden in Quay Hill. At Perranwell Station, participants will gather at 10.50am ahead of a two minute silence at Perranarworthal War Memorial, which will be followed by a service at St Pirans Church at 11.10am. Two minutes’ silence will be observed at the War Memorial at 11am.

In Helston, the RBL is organising events with its parade gathering at the Co-op car park at 2.30pm on the 10th. It will march to St Michael’s Church for a service at 3pm which will be followed by a wreath laying ceremony.

A Remembrance Day Concert will be held at St Michaels Church at 7.30pm with Helston Town Band and St Keverne Male Voice Choir. A two minute’s silence will be observed at the Garden of Remembrance at 11am on the 11th.

In Mullion, there is a Poppy Cafe in the RBL Hall until November 11 and on the 10th, a parade from the hall at 2.45pm for a service at the Parish Church at 3pm. A wreath laying ceremony will take place at the Memorial following the service and Parade.

On November 11, members of the RBL and others will meet at the Memorial by the Parish Church at 10.45am for short Service of Remembrance at 11am.

In St Keverne on the 10th, a parade, led by St Keverne Band, is to muster at the statues at 10.40am and make its way to the Memorial. A short service will be conducted in the square followed by a service in the Parish Church.

At about 12.30am there will be a short wreath laying service at St Peters Church Memorial in Coverack - all are invited to attend.
