Towns and villages across West Cornwall will be pausing to remember war veterans and serving members of the armed forces next weekend on Remembrance Sunday (November 10).

In Penzance a parade will leave from St John’s Hall at 10.40am and proceed to the Chapel Street Methodist Church for a 10.50am service.

This will be followed by a parade to the memorial at Battery Rocks, where a wreath-laying ceremony will take place around noon.

Hayle Royal British Legion will be holding a service at 9.30am at St Elwyns Church, followed by a parade to the war memorial at 10.40am. Refreshments will be available at the Cadets Drill Hall next to Passmore Edwards Hall following the wreath laying ceremony.

In Mousehole the legion will muster at 10.45am at the RBL hall to march to the war memorial. A short service will be conducted on the cliff next to the memorial followed by a wreath laying ceremony and the reading of the names of the fallen.

Similar services will be taking place in Newlyn, St Just and Madron.
