More than five years after a Penryn mother-of-two disappeared without a trace, an inquest is to be held in Truro next month.
Wendy Pollard, a care worker, was 44 when she went missing from her home in Penryn in April 2008 She was last seen by her partner at around 11pm, and her car, a blue Ford Fiesta, was found by members of the public at Gunwalloe on The Lizard at around 8am the next morning.
An extensive search of the cliffs and coastline was undertaken by police, coastguards, the Cornwall Rescue Group, the RNLI and a search and rescue helicopter from RNAS Culdrose, but there was no sign of Ms Pollard.
Police, who had described Ms Pollard as “vulnerable” and “high risk,” made appeals for information on the sixth and 12-month anniversaries of her disappearance but they proved fruitless.
Ms Pollard, who had two teenage sons, Ashley and Adam, and a partner, Phil Bacciocchi, went missing three days before the first anniversary of her father Brian’s death. Now, after more than five years, an inquest will be held in Truro on December 5.
