The Falmouth Support Group of Cornwall Hospice Care staged a Ladies’ Day last week which was attended by 140 people.

The morning speaker was Robin Dunseath who spoke on his adventure of Around the World in 80 Ways which he accomplished using 80 different types of transport, including a cardboard boat. After his talk and a two-course lunch, the ladies enjoyed a fashion show given by March Hare of Falmouth.

Christine Morris, chairman of the group, said: “This was the 13th Ladies’ Day but the first one to be held at the Falmouth Hotel. I am delighted that the event raised £2,118.”

The group put on an event every month and the next one is scheduled for Friday, November 29, which will be a coffee morning at St Mary’s Church Hall between 10.30am and noon. There will be coffee, mince pies, a hospice goods’ stall, cake stall and a raffle.

On Wednesday, December 11, there will be a Christmas Concert at Falmouth Methodist Church.

The concert will be at 7.30pm.
