An 11-year-old from Falmouth is pursuing his dreams of one day representing Britain at the Olympics, and is looking for help.

Harvey Martin is currently looking for sponsorship to help him realise his goals of becoming an Olympic and Americas Cup yachtsman.

This year he has come second in the OPIE South West Championships, has been helming in the Mirror Nationals, and placed 19th in the Mirror World Nationals.

Most importantly, Harvey has been accepted into the RYA UK Junior squad, and hopes to represent the UK in the next Mirror Worlds contest in 2015, and eventually progress to the Olympic Development Squad.

Harvey’s mother, Sarah Jane Humphrey, said: “I’m proud beyond words at what he’s accomplished, at what he’s won and at the fact that he’s racing with adults and teenagers.”

“I’m impressed with how dedicated he is, and how he’s prepared to go out on the water, even in the winter, and train hard, no matter how tired he is.”

Harvey started out sailing aged six at Restronguet Sailing Club, an RYA Champion Club, and is well supported by his school, Bolitho School in Penzance, where attention is paid to his dietary, training and timetabling requirements.
