An inquest into the death of Dr Geraint Hughes was opened and adjourned today.
GP Geraint Hughes, known as Gary, was discovered with stab wounds on November 15 at his home at Trolver Croft.
Dr Carlyon opened and adjourned the inquest at the Committee Room, Municipal Building, Boscawen Street, Truro.
Dr Hughes' wife Marion Hughes, 58, has been charged with his murder following an incident at their home near Feock. She has been remanded in custody.
She was initially taken to hospital for treatment of injuries she had sustained.
Mr Hughes, who was the senior partner at the Clinton Road Surgery in Redruth, qualified in 1977 and was a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners.
