Porthleven Food and Music Festival has a date and a new co-ordinator for next year.

Hannabeth Johnson has taken over from Nicky Adair in the running of the event, returning for its sixth year on Saturday, April 26, with events planned for the whole festival weekend.

Hannabeth said: “Nicky and the team did a really amazing job on the festival this year; it was a fantastic event and the best to date. I am going into the role with loads of enthusiasm and ideas and will do my best to make sure that the 2014 food and music festival is as good and runs as smoothly.”

As well as being part of the founding committee for the festival five years ago, for the past decade Hannabeth has worked in the Cornish food and drink industry. Alongside her is a team of committee members and associates who will be working towards the festival during the six-month lead up to the event.

An estimated 18,000 people turned up over the course of the main day this year to enjoy cooking demonstrations by celebrity chefs, local music, entertainment and plenty of eating.
