Piskies will be among the crowds enjoying the lighting up of Coverack’s Christmas lights display this Saturday – and it will be up to visitors to find them.

The Christmas Pisky Trail launches from midday on the same day as the switch on, running through until the beginning of January raising money for the lights display.

Families taking part can buy a trail for £2 from Brenda’s Stores and then follow the directions to find the tiny piskies that have been hidden by Cornish Pisky Pals, each wearing a small name tag.

The piskies must be left where they are hiding but the first letter of their name will spell out a mystery phrase, related to something about pisky pals that other people don’t know.

Each returned trail gets a pisky pal sticker and entered into the prize draw.

This winter the route has kept to the well-lit parts of the village and many of the piskies are hiding near the lights, which will be switched on at 6.45pm.

Children will proceed down the hill with lanterns from the Lambeage Hall to the village Christmas tree, ready for carol singing and the countdown to the lights.

Father Christmas will then arrive with a gift for all the children and hot refreshments will be served.
