Police in Truro are appealing for witnesses after an attempted burglary at a property in Trucks Hill, Probus.

The incident happened sometime between 3.30pm on Friday, December 6 and 9am on Saturday, December 7.

The part of the building targeted by thieves was being renovated. Although the back door was jemmied by the lock, entry was not gained into the property.

The suspects also tried to get into the property via a hole in the roof but they were not successful due to the large drop from the roof to the floor.

The protective sheeting covering the hole in the roof, in preparation for a sky light, had been cut.

A police spokesperson said: “We are asking the public to be extra vigilant and keep an eye on buildings that are having work done on them as they are more vulnerable.”

Anyone with information about this incident, or who sees anyone acting suspiciously, is asked to call police on 101 quoting crime reference GE/13/287.
