A Falmouth man caught driving a Ford Transit at 83 mph at Carland in a 50mph zone has appeared in court before Truro magistrates charged with speeding.
Forest Adrian Dunn, aged 25, of Trelawney Avenue, pleaded guilty to the offence, which happened on October 17.
He told the magistrates he drove about 2,000 miles a month as he worked for an oil company in Scotland.
He believed his offence was due to a momentary lapse of concentration.
He was fined £500 and £110 costs and surcharge and given six points on his licence.
