This year’s Truro Christmas Primestock and Produce Show has been hailed a “tremendous success.”
The title of Supreme Beef Champion was won by Mr R Cobbledick of Warbstow with his Limousin cross heifer Amber, weighing 526 kg.
The beast was bought at the show auction by Helston butcher Chris Dale for 440p/kg.
Local Champion title was won by N and O Penellum of Illogan with their South Devon heifer Karenza 2nd weighing 590 kgs and purchased at the show auction by Robert Trevarthen of Penryn for 370p/kg. This heifer also won the Reserve Champion Prize.
Reserve Local Champion was won by Mr R Withers of Probus, with his Limousin cross heifer Velvet weighing 574kgs, which was purchased by Peter Morris Butchers of St Columb for 370p/kg.
In the sheep classes, Supreme Champion was won by NA and JR Phillips of Restronguet with a pair of Butchers Lambs.
The Texel lambs were purchased at the show by JV Richards for £210/head.
The Reserve Champion was won by Mr and Mrs A Pedrick of Buckfastleigh. The lambs were purchased at the show by RJ Trevarthen for £140/head.
