A group of girls with a naked ambition to raise money for charity have now presented the proceeds of their nude calendar.

The Cheeky Cornish 2014 calendar was the brainchild of 21-year-old Georgiana “Geo” Fairweather, from Manor Way, Helston.

She had wanted to raise money for the Children’s Hospice South West for the past two years and roped in six friends to help her.

Together they posed for group and individual shots taken in a variety of Cornish locations, including St Michael’s Mount, Roskilly’s, near St Keverne, and the Wheal Dream.

The results formed the images for A4 calendars that went on sale in October.

Geo, who works for the Royal Bank of Scotland’s Truro branch, has since visited the Little Harbour hospice at St Austell, together with her manager Sandra Egan, to present a cheque for £2,817 to the charity.

Although the girls will continue to raise funds and sell calendars up until Christmas, this marked the amount raised during The £50 Challenge, which Geo was taking part in – raising as much money as possible from an initial £50.

Speaking after her visit to the hospice, Geo told the Packet: “Visiting the hospice itself was very emotional and really deepened the understanding of where the money goes.

“I could not have done this without the incredible support of friends and family and I really was honoured to be able to donate such a fantastic amount.”

Bernadette Chambers, corporate fundraiser for the Children’s Hospice South West, said: “Geo and the team at RBS have done such a fantastic job in fundraising through The £50 Challenge. They have really shown what a great amount can be raised from a small start up fund of just £50 and some innovative ideas.

“The money raised through their hard work really will make such a difference to our families and the children here at Little Harbour.”
