A woman has been airlifted to hospital with serious internal injuries after being hit by her own car in a Perranwell driveway.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after the incident on a residential driveway at Greenwith Lane, Perranwell, at 8.45am on Monday, (December 16).

A police spokesman said: Police are currently investigating the circumstances of the incident, but the woman driver of the VW left the vehicle, and subsequently collided with it as it rolled down the driveway.

The Volkswagen Caravelle MPV then collided with a gate post before coming to rest.

The 41-year-old local woman was airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth where she received treatment for arm and internal injuries. She remains in a serious, but stable condition.

No other people were injured as a result of the collision and no other vehicles were involved.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or may have been in the Greenwith Lane area of Perranwell on Monday morning.
