Members of the Cornish Harmony Choir are preparing to take to the streets of Falmouth on Christmas Eve for the annual mobile carol service which will see them make their way from Grove Place to The Moor, entertaining the crowds along the way.

It will be the choir’s 113th annual performance and will see members of male voice choirs from across the county combine to sing traditional Cornish carols. The main street will be closed to traffic from 10.30am until 1pm.

All singers are asked to congregate at Falmouth Watersports Centre at 10.15am for a short rehearsal. The volunteer| collectors are also asked to attend at the same time to pick up their boxes and jackets.

The choir, under its conductor Ivor Richardson, will being singing outside the Watersports Centre at 10.30am and will then move to the entrance to Custom House Quay and then onto Church Corner for about 11.30am.

The concert will then move to Church Street car park before |heading to Market Street, outside Rowe’s Bakery, and finally to The Moor, outside the Seven Stars pub, at about 1pm.

After this, the choir will head to Falmouth Rugby Club where the singing will continue, accompanied by a pasty and a pint.

Donations will be accepted along the route and this year will be shared out between Falmouth Stroke Club, Falmouth Befriending Service and the Falmouth branch of the Mission to Seafarers.
