One of Porthleven’s new town councillors has come full circle, making a return to the post after a two-year absence.

Dick Powell, pictured above, has reclaimed his seat, filling one of two vacancies on Porthleven Town Council.

The second has been filled by Julia Schofield, pictured below. Although her first time on the council she is well known in the village for her involvement in port events, in particular Porthleven Food Festival.

Welcoming them both at last week’s council meeting, mayor Mark Berryman said: “They were two outstanding candidates. I’m sure they will, hopefully, having a long and fruitful relationship with this council.”

With no disrespect intended, that I believe, is a very apt term of phrase, given the picture supplied with the article.
