MORE than 60 pensioners sat down to a |traditional Christmas dinner on Monday, thanks to Helston’s Age Concern.

The event, which was attended by the Helston’s Methodist minister Rev Danny Reed and his family, had a whole host of treats for their guests.

Father Christmas took time out of his busy schedule to deliver gifts to one and all. Along with carol singing and mince pies, it made for a really festive feel at the Methodist hall.

Chairman of Helston Age Concern, Nick Martin, was delighted with the turnout and the standard of the meal. He said: “It was a very good day and well attended.”

He continued: “The food was excellent as always – they do a brilliant job.”

The meal ended with a cheque being presented by Helston Rotary Club to Mr Martin for the benefit of the group.
