SANTA Claus is coming to town this Friday when Helston celebrates the festive season with a visit from the big man himself.
He is due to arrive on his sleigh at 6.30pm, pulled through the town by Bobby Eustis and his vintage tractor.
Set up in the town from 5pm will be the second night of the Christmas street market – |following on from the lights switch on – plus a variety of entertainers including |children’s magician Harry Kazzam, Penny Red’s pony rides, bouncy castles, and buskers.
As part of the celebrations, Father Christmas will be choosing the winning Hellys Angel, which have been made by youngsters at workshops run by Jude Carroll at Helston Folk Museum.
After the announcement of the winning angel, all of the entries will be displayed around town in the run up to Christmas.
Emma Wooderson, events chairperson for the Helston Business Improvement Partnership, which is |organising the event, said: “We’re really pleased that we were able to arrange a visit from Father Christmas this year, and we hope that the Christmas street market will be better than ever.
“There’s been a lot of |support from local businesses which has been great and everyone is very much looking forward to it.”
