An unexpected snowfall helped create a festive feeling when The Lizard village’s Christmas lights were switched on.
While the Lizard Peninsula is renowned for its individual microclimate, however, this was not a particularly centralised flurry but instead thanks to a snow machine.
Nevertheless it prompted much excitement, especially for younger members of the |community.
A large crowd gathered to seeing the illuminating of the lights, with the afternoon |beginning by children from Landewednack School choir singing on the village green.
Father Christmas was waiting in his grotto nearby to give each child attending the event present.
Special thanks have gone to the small committee who worked hard in organising the event, putting up the tree and light |displays and fundraising through the year to make it happen.
