More than £1,800 was raised at Helston Community Hospital’s Christmas bazaar thanks to the generosity of visitors and the League of Friends.
A total of £915 was raised at the event, which was then matched by the Friends group. Staff are now considering the best use for the money.
Visitors could look over a range of table top stalls, plus one by Helston Lions Club, as we as attempt to guess the weight of a Christmas cake and try their luck on the tombola and raffle. Teas, coffees and cakes were sold while Father Christmas gave out toys to the children attending.
Music was provided by Helston Town Band and a singer.
The event was opened by Dr Ian Wort and was well attended by supporters.
Adrienne Darko, business support supervisor and secretary to the matron, said: “Everybody helped as much as they could and it went very well.”
