A former undertakers in Newlyn has sold at auction for double the guide price.
The former chapel of rest, in Tolcarne Place, sold freehold at £80,500.
The former chapel was among 23 lots being sold by Clive Emson, the regional land and property auctioneers.
Katie Semmens, senior Auction valuer, said: “With planning permission already granted for conversion into a home, we anticipated a great deal of interest but it went bananas – must be the lure of the sea.
“There were many keen bidders and the guide price of £40,000 to £60,000 was eventually smashed at £80,500.”
