A director of Pendennis Shipyard in Falmouth has been made an MBE in the New Year’s Honours list.
Jillian Carr is human resources director at the shipyard, which employs more than 350 staff. Her award is for services to education.
Also honoured in Cornwall are Kenneth Radford, for services to people with learning disabilities through people and gardens at the Eden Project in St Austell, and Robert Bulgin, chairman of the Port Isaac fundraising branch of the RNLI, for charitable services.
Both men have received British Empire Medals.
