Parish councillor and Cornish wrestling club founder faces child sexual touching allegations

One of the founders of a Helston-based wrestling club, who is also a Sithney parish councillor, is due to appear in court today, Thursday, charged with six counts of sexually touching a girl under the age of 13.
Brian Deacon, aged 69, from Merther Close, Sithney is listed to appear at Truro’s magistrates court to face three charges of sexually touching a girl aged nine/ten between January 1, 2011 and May 28, 2013.
He also faces a further three charges of sexually touching a girl aged seven, during the same dates.
Mr Deacon is one of the founders of Sithney Cornish Wrestling Club, which meets at the Epworth Hall in Helston, and was a former chairman.
He is also a Sithney parish councillor, listed on the council’s website as being its represenative for Police and Victim Support, together with the Cornwall Association of Local Councils (CALC).
