UPDATE: Police have spoken to the man captured on CCTV in the King's Head pub in Falmouth and confirmed that he was never being sought as an offender, but as a potential witness to an alleged assault.

Police are asking for help from the public after a man was attacked on the dance floor of a pub in Falmouth.

Officers released CCTV images of two men they wanted to speak to following the incident of suspected actual bodily harm. One of the men has now spoken to the police. He was never sought as the actual offender, just as a witness.

A police spokesman said that the man was attacked from behind on the dance floor of the King's Head pub on Church Street at around 12.10am in the early hours of December 1.

He was hit on the back of the head with an unknown object, and also punched repeatedly in the head after he had slumped to the floor unconscious.

An ambulance was called to treat the man for bruising to the back of the head.

The victim is said to be a 35-year-old man local to Falmouth.
