Budock-based Westcountry Fruit Sales has taken over speciality food distributors Plough to Plate.
Plough to Plate was started by Nigel and Sherry Boocock in Liskeard in 2001, to help shops and restaurants find quality food in their area.
Now Westcountry Fruit Sales, one of the south west's leading distributors of fresh produce to the catering and retail trade, is taking over the company.
Managing director Sean Williams said: “The timing is perfect; Nigel and Sherry have been looking to move on to ‘pastures new’ and we have been looking to add more speciality and artisanal products.”
He added that his company planned to expand Plough to Plate's speciality product range to give a greater selection of “hard to source” ingredients.
