UPDATE: A30 at Launceston has reopened following the earlier fatal crash.

Police have confirmed that a man has died following a crash on the A30 near Launceston.

Firefighters and police were called to the crash in the westbound lane, near Two Bridges, between Bodmin and Launceston at 8.23am today (Friday).

Two fire appliances from Launceston and the rescue tender from Bodmin attended the report of a road trafffic collision with a person trapped. The fire crews assisted Police at the scene.

The car had left the road and hit trees.
It is thought that the road may be closed until after 1pm and drivers are urged to avoid the area if at all possible.

Diversion: Traffic is being sent off the A30 southbound down the A388 toward Saltash then westbound on the A38 toward Bodmin
