A man had to be pulled from rough seas at Towan Beach, Newquay after wading into big surf while drunk in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Police say that at about 4.30am on Saturday, January 4, officers were alerted to a male who was "wading into the sea" on Towan Beach Newquay.
Police responding established that the male who was suffering the effects of alcohol was wading into the sea with a surf of 3/4’.
With the assistance of a throw line, police brought the male safely to shore.
He was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.
