Sports teams at Mylor Bridge Primary School are celebrating a run of fantastic performances throughout the autumn term.

The two netball teams performed well, with first team the Jags |winning all their league games, held at Penryn College, to qualify for the county competition, while second team the Jets won all but four of their games, and drawing another one.

Chris Lea, head teacher, said: “Our netball teams have done really well all through the autumn term.

“I’m very grateful to the teachers Mrs Tania Lang and Miss Laura Talbot who ran a club on Mondays where our girls from year three upwards got a good chance to play, and I’m also grateful to Mrs Cathy Robinson who has always helped out with our netball teams.”

The school’s football team also performed well, winning nine of their league games. They will also be pleased with their new kits, after receiving sponsorship from local builder Ernie Duckham.

Mr Lea said: “The football team have done really well this season, and have got better and better as the season went on. The team have been very lucky to be sponsored by Ernie Duckham, who also attended the school when he was younger.”
