Despite lashing rain and waves breaking over the harbour wall, Porthleven “got off relatively lightly” in terms of storm damage over the festive period.
This was the news from parish clerk Corrie Thompson, when she updated members at their last meeting.
One of the benches by the institute had been lost to the weather, however. Damaged by the storms, it had now been stolen altogether.
A tree fell at The Moors, which unfortunately damaged the bridge as a result.
Power cables on the institute came unattached and were left trailing on the toilet roof, but this had now been rectified.
