Falmouth Packet: Town council backs Falmouth vegan cafe's music and alcohol licence bid Town council backs Falmouth vegan cafe's music and alcohol licence bid

Falmouth town councillors have backed a bid by Falmouth’s new vegan cafe bar, Wildebeest, to sell alcohol and provide recorded music at the premises in Arwenack Street.

The application to Cornwall Council is seeking the licence for between 8am and 11pm, daily, except on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve when it is requested until 1am.

Members of Falmouth’s licensing sub-committee unanimously supported the application when it went before them on Monday.

Why is a vegan cafe called Widebeest? Weird.

Perhaps because it is a 'Gnu' cafe.

More to the point, I'll be interested to see what alcohol they sell.

Many beers and wines contain animal derivatives or substances!!!

Someone has thumbed your comment down Gill, when a comment was added. I see this website hasn't changed, either lack of knowledge or lack of sense of humour. (A Gnu is a wildebeest 'new' cafe.)

I think the cafe sounds interesting, I stayed at a vegan b&b once because it was the only one with vacancies and the food was quite nice.

Are vegans a bit weird? Or is it me? Knew one once. Quite the most unhealthy person I've met. No 'ummph' about the fellow and he was palid.

I've been told I am weird (amongst other things) but I am not a vegan!
