A seven vehicle crash closed the A39 at St Teath this morning, with one casualty cut free from wreckage and taken to hospital by air ambulance.

Firefighters were called just after 9am this morning, with five firefighters from Delabole, six firefighters from Wadebridge and five firefighters on a specialist rescue tender from Bodmin attendingthe incident.

A fire and rescue spokesman said: A total of seven vehicles were involved and one person was trapped in one of the vehicles. The casualty was cut free form the vehicle using crash rescue equipment and was then taken to hospital via Air Ambulance.

"There were two further casualties who were treated by paramedics on scene. Fire crews used a winch and assisted the Police in making the scene safe."
