An election will take place to fill the vacant seat on Helston Town Council after enough people wrote to request one.
It follows the resignation of Lloyd Harris in December, for work and health reasons.
The vote for a new north ward member will take place on March 6.
Anyone wanting to put their name forward must apply through Cornwall Council’s electoral office in Dolcoath Road, Camborne.
In order for an election to be held a total of ten people on Helston’s electoral role had to make a request in writing, to town clerk Chris Dawson, by January 3.
