St Keverne Band travelled to Skegness at the weekend to compete in the Butlins National Mineworkers Championships.
Playing the test piece Kenilworth by Sir Arthur Bliss, led by musical director Gareth Churcher, the band was delighted to be placed third out of the 17 bands in their section.
The £700 prize money will go some way to off-set the cost of the trip, which was more than £5,000 in total.
After competing, players and supporters were able to enjoy the Butlins facilities and entertainment programme.
The band holds its AGM on Friday, January 24 at 7pm in the band room when all are welcome.
