A SERIES of events is being organised to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the start of World War I this summer.
The marking of the event will begin on July 20 with a civic service by the mayor.
Helston’s Methodist church and parish church of St Michael’s are to team up for a joint flower festival between August 1 and 4, with refreshments served at the chapel.
A permanent reminder will be made with the planting of a silver birch tree beside a granite plaque and seating in Trengrouse Way.
