Customers of Tresillian Post Office are being promised longer opening hours and a more modern look following development work later this month.

The open-plan retail counter will be located on the right as customers enter the shop.

Opening hours will now be 8am to 6pm on Monday to Fridays, and 8am to 4pm on Saturdays – an extra 21 hours a week, including opening on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons and at lunchtime.

Tresillian Post Office will close for refurbishment on Wednesday, February 12 at 1pm. The new-look post office will open on Friday, February 21 at 1pm.

During that time nearby alternative offices are Probus Post Office and Truro Post Office at High Cross.

Post Office area manager Adrian Skinner said: “We understand how important having a post office is to residents in Tresillian and we are confident the post office local service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.

“The modernisation is part of a major investment programme to convert the post office network to new-style branches and this investment, the largest in the history of the post office, marks a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
