A 28-year-old-man from Hastings has been jailed for a rape in Penzance over five years ago.

Lee Hosking appeared at Truro Crown Court today, Monday, January 27, and pleaded guilty to rape. He was sentenced to nine-and-a-half years in prison.

This conviction relates to an offence that occurred in Penzance on 5 May 2008.

Detective Inspector Stuart Ellis said: “Lee Hosking has today pleaded guilty to an exceptionally violent rape.

“Every case of rape is treated with the utmost seriousness. Unsolved cases are regularly reviewed by detectives to ensure that, where possible, any offenders are identified and arrested.

“Since 2008, the victim of this terrible offence has had to live with its devastating effects and will inevitably have to continue to do so. Every aspect of her life, her relationships, her career and her health have been irrevocably damaged since she was attacked.

“I hope that it will be at least some small comfort to her that Lee Hosking has finally been brought to justice.”
