A hole, blamed on old mineworkings, has opened up on the main Helston to Penzance road at Rosudgeon.
The A394 was partially blocked due to emergency repairs to the subsidence at Packet Lane.
Highways are on site repairing a "large hole" opposite Hodges Motor Works where the mine shaft has opened up.
Workers were at the scene today and had fenced off the hole, were capping it with concete and set up temporary traffic lights.
